Veesual and Marine Henrion launch the virtual fitting of clothes to help customers to project themselves in e-commerce
Choose your model, Compose your outfit, Buy the look!
In collaboration with the french start-up Veesual, the young fashion designer Marine Henrion launches a completely new virtual fitting experience.
Inclusivity at the heart of the customer experience
The experience developed by Veesual is totally new. When arriving on the “Mix & Match” page of the brand’s website, the user is invited to choose the model he/she identifies with from among three different profiles in terms of morphology, clothing size and skin color.
They can then browse through the collection and select the pieces that interest them: with each click, the image magically updates to show the selected outfit worn by the chosen model.
“My customers are diverse, and I try to show that diversity on my site. But it’s impossible for me to shoot every product on different models,” says Marine Henrion, who launched her brand in Paris six years ago. “With the virtual fitting, I can help them project themselves by visualizing each piece on a model that looks like them”.
In addition,” she adds, “my collections are really about encouraging people to mix and match different pieces to create unique looks. With the experience developed by Veesual, my customers can express their own style and put together their outfits, as they would if they had the opportunity to try on in-store.”
+200% of purchase intention
“American studies have shown that purchase intent increases by more than 200% when customers see images with models that look like them,” comments Maxime Patte, CEO and co-founder of Veesual. “So there is a real opportunity for brands to create truly inclusive experiences that everyone can relate to.”
According to a survey conducted by Veesual in 2021, the first thing that catches the eye of Internet users are images of clothes worn by models. Yet, laments Maxime Patte, “brands continue to offer non-personalized experiences where all customers see the same models and the same looks, even though we know that they are not a homogeneous population, neither in terms of appearance nor in terms of style.”
By letting users choose the mannequin they identify with and freely compose their look, “our virtual fitting experience gives the power back to the consumer to choose the images that are really useful to feel inspired” continues Maxime Patte.
A revolutionary technology
Morphology, skin color, hair, outfit… everything seems interchangeable in the experience developed by Veesual. To create this interactive experience, the startup uses a cutting-edge technology based on deep learning, generative AI.
“It allows us to start from existing images of clothing that brands have available, which we associate with photos of models. Our technology will then create pixel by pixel all possible combinations of looks, with a photorealistic result” explains Damien Meurisse, CTO and co-founder of the company.
No need for expensive 3D models to set up this experience, then. “Using real photos, especially photos of real models, allows us to bring realism to the experience. We are not here to create artificial images, but to really help consumers in their purchases,” concludes Maxime Patte.
