Our neoprene (made in France) +
We’re very proud of the neoprene we use in our collections. It comes from the french Guigou company, located near Lyon, and is produced in France in their workshops. We chose it for its amazing softness, its technical qualities – it’s warm in winter, breathable in summer – and it complies with the OEKO TEX Standard 100 label.
There are 3 types of neoprene, with different thicknesses and technicalities: the first is the one you’ll find most in our collections. It’s thick yet supple, soft and breathable. It’s woven with an antibacterial yarn that allows it to be worn in both hot and cold weather. It is used to make our Core Collection brassieres, crop tops, skirts and pants. The second is thiner, more fluid and even softer. It’s used for close to the body pieces that require more elasticity and comfort, like our leggings, midi skirts or long dresses. The third is made from recycled plastic waste, and has the technicity of being water-repellent. It is used for our coats and jackets.
Our upcycled scuba (made in Italy) +
Scuba is actually another name for neoprene. The term varies according to the country of manufacture, in this case Italy, but its composition and feel are very similar. The one we’re using is upcycled, and comes from the Nona Source platform. This platform sells deadstock fabrics from prestigious LVMH couture houses in very limited quantities.
We decided to use this fabric to get as close to a greater sustainable approach as possible. In fact, by using these deadstock rolls, we’re using fabrics that have already been produced, thus avoiding the need to produce new ones. The provenance of these fabrics, in this case from major fashion houses, guarantees their excellent quality.
What is upcycling ? +
Upcycling is simply the principle of reclaiming unused material to create something new. Today, it’s one of the pillars of the circular economy, particularly for the fashion industry. Fashion is responsible for almost half of all industrial pollution in the world. Upcycling allows us to create without producing new materials, since we use what already exists.
That’s why we decided to collaborate with Nona Source and use upcycled scuba: we wanted to take an even more sustainable approach, while maintaining excellent fabric quality.
Our values and our engagements +
Our values are based on three pillars: made in France, sustainability and ethics.
We produce our collections exclusively in France, in workshops where people and savoir-faire are at the forefront. We aim for durability, both in the timeless style of our pieces, which can be worn with anything and for any occasion; and in their durability over time, which is ensured by the quality of the fabrics used and their manufacture. Likewise, our creations are sustainable because they are made from locally produced or upcycled fabrics.
Finally, ethics is also a strong commitment that we wish to uphold by supporting French manufacturing and producing in France, whether it’s for the design of our collections, the manufacture of our fabrics, the sourcing of our haberdashery items, or the partners we work with.
